Product Review: Shiseido The Makeup Lasting Lift Mascara

I wanted to write about this mascara simply because its my absolute favorite for me.  I have tried almost every mascara out there and if your main goal is to achieve a long lasting curl, then this one is it.  I used this mascara on my clients that have short straight eyelashes that have a hard time curling or lose their curl quickly.   It is my favorite mascara to use on Asian people that have this problem.  It has a tiny brush which takes a little getting used to, but because its so little, you are able to get every lash.

My runner up favorites are Dior's Diorshow and Iconic, which give a little more volume than this Shiseido product, but do not give as big a of curl.  I usually use these two Dior's mascaras for people that already have a curl or have easy to curl eyelashes.

One thing I'd like to point out however is this Shiseido mascara is so waterproof and sweatproof that it is actually extremely hard to remove with regular makeup remover.  Do not use the "oil-free" makeup removers because you will have a hard time with it.  I recommend using the Amorepacific Treatment Cleansing Oil that I talked about in my previous post because that's the best product I've used to remove this tough mascara.

Product Review: AMOREPACIFIC Treatment Cleansing Oil Face & Eyes

I just ran out of this stuff so I decided to do a review on it to share with the world my love for this cleansing oil.  I have tried A TON of cleansers and makeup removers out there and nothing compares to how much grime and makeup this removes.  Its not only a makeup remover, but also turns into a light silky emulsion when water is added acting a facial cleanser.  Many people don't realize that to remove oil and grime off your face you need oil itself.  The sebum that is clogging your pores is natural oil that you produce, and when you use oil to cleanse your face, that oil cleanser dissolves the oil (sebum) in your pores.

This product is definitely a little pricey at $50.00, but for 6.8 oz, this stuff is going to last you a VERY long time.   A little goes a long way and it works as both a makeup remover and cleanser, so its actually a 2 in 1 product.  AmorePacific's cleansing oil can remove the toughest waterproof mascara imaginable.  I mean this stuff is really hardcore since I am a makeup artist and have use products on models that are impossible to remove without pulling out some eyelashes without it.  With this stuff however, you don't even need a cotton pad, just a few drops on your finger tips and or hands, and some light massaging, and EVERYTHING will come off!

I would also like to mention that its great for sensitive and extremely dry skin too.  I have really weird combination skin, extremely dry in some areas and oily in other spots and this stuff cleans my face without drying it out at all.  Its very moisturizing and works well with all skins types.  I have found this product at both Neiman Marcus and online at Sephora.  Give this stuff a try...it is absolutely one of my all time favorite beauty products out there!
